Indoor LED Screens
Where Indoor LED Screens Are Used
An indoor LED screen is built from modules, so its size and shape are fitted to the space, not the other way around. The bezel-free surface stays seamless even at widths of several metres.
Lobbies and Reception Areas
The first impression of a company, building or hotel. A large wall surface for brand content, announcements and welcome messages.
Shops and Shopping Centres
Promotions, product videos and pricing information that can be updated centrally across multiple locations at once.
Conference and Meeting Rooms
Instead of a projector, a bright, sharp image that stays easy to read even in a brightly lit room and from the back of the room.
Event Venues and Stages
Stage backdrops, close-ups of speakers and sponsor content. A camera-friendly image, even in live broadcasts.
Control Rooms and Operations Centres
Round-the-clock operation, multiple inputs on a single surface and a uniform image without the seams of an LCD video wall.
Museums and Exhibitions
Custom-shaped and curved solutions that become part of the exhibition, not just a screen on the wall.
How to Choose an Indoor LED Screen
The right screen depends mainly on viewing distance, the lighting in the room and how the screen will be maintained. These are the key decisions we go through together at the start of a project.
Pixel Pitch and Viewing Distance
Pixel pitch is the distance between pixels in millimetres. A rule of thumb: the minimum viewing distance in metres is roughly the same number as the pixel pitch in millimetres, and comfortable viewing starts at two to three times that distance. Meeting rooms typically use 0.9–1.5 mm, lobbies and retail 1.5–2.5 mm, and large halls 3 mm or more.
Brightness
Indoors, 600–1200 nits is usually enough. A screen that is too bright strains the eyes and uses more energy, so we calibrate the brightness to the room's lighting and, where needed, make it automatic. A screen facing out through a window needs considerably higher brightness and is a separate solution.
SMD, GOB or COB
SMD is the most common and most affordable technology. GOB modules have the LEDs covered with a protective layer that better withstands touches and impacts, for example in public spaces and schools. COB technology delivers a uniform black surface and high contrast at very fine pixel pitches, making it well suited to meeting rooms and premium installations.
Front or Rear Maintenance
A front-serviceable screen is mounted directly on the wall, and modules are replaced from the front using a magnetic tool. A rear-serviceable solution requires maintenance space behind the screen but is common for larger structures. The choice affects both the installation depth and how quickly the screen can be serviced.
Refresh rate
If the screen will be filmed or used in live broadcasts, the refresh rate should be at least 3840 Hz. At lower rates, flicker and banding appear in the camera image that the naked eye doesn't notice.
Control and Content Management
The screen is driven by a controller that receives content from a computer, a media player or directly via HDMI input. Content can be managed remotely with cloud-based content management software such as OptiSign or BrightSign, and different content can be scheduled for different times of day.
From Idea to a Working Screen
We handle the entire process, so the client has a single point of contact from the first measurement through to maintenance.
Consultation
We survey the site, measure viewing distances and select the right pixel pitch and technology.
Design and Engineering
Support structure, power and network connections, and a visualisation before you order.
Installation
Installation, calibration and content management setup, after which the screen is handed over in full working order.
Maintenence
Remote monitoring, software updates, spare modules and a fast response to faults.
Frequently Asked Questions
An outdoor screen must remain readable in direct sunlight and withstand rain, cold and dust, so its brightness is several times higher and its enclosure has a higher IP rating. An indoor LED screen has lower brightness, a finer pixel pitch and a slimmer profile, because it is viewed from closer up and is not exposed to the weather.
Start from the closest viewing distance. If people stand about two metres from the screen, a pixel pitch of up to 2 mm is suitable; in a meeting room where people sit a couple of metres away and read small text, 1.2 mm or finer is better. A finer pixel pitch means a sharper image, but also a higher price per square metre.
Manufacturers typically rate LED lifespan at around 100,000 hours, after which brightness has dropped to half. Actual lifespan depends on operating hours, brightness and ventilation. The modules are replaceable, so if a single fault occurs, only the faulty part is replaced, not the entire screen.
The price depends mainly on the screen area, pixel pitch, technology (SMD, GOB, COB) and the complexity of the installation. We prepare an exact quote after discussing the space and your requirements; send us the desired screen dimensions and location, and we'll give you an initial estimate quickly.
Content can be displayed directly from a computer or another HDMI source, or via a media player managed with cloud-based content management software such as OptiSign or BrightSign. This lets you change images, videos, news feeds and scheduled campaigns remotely, without going to the screen. For more complex needs, we also offer custom software development.
