Cinema and Home LED Screens
In home cinemas, an LED screen is a new alternative to a projector: the image stays bright even in a well-lit room, contrast is high and the screen can be built to fit the wall exactly. Lumepix designs and installs LED screens for home cinemas and private screening rooms, complete with audio and control systems.
Where Cinema and Home LED Screens Work
An LED screen is a new alternative to a projector for home cinemas and private screening rooms. The image stays bright even in a well-lit room, contrast is high and the screen size can be matched exactly to the wall.
Home Cinemas
A dedicated cinema room where an LED screen replaces the projector and projection screen, delivering higher brightness and contrast.
Living Rooms
A large screen for a daylit room, where a projector image would look washed out and even a large TV would be too small.
Private Screening Rooms
A cinema experience in hotels, clubs and corporate hospitality spaces.
Gaming and Entertainment Rooms
A big picture for video games, sports broadcasts and simulators.
Yachts and Bespoke Projects
Custom solutions for spaces where a standard TV or projector won't fit.
Cinemas
LED screens for cinema auditoriums that replace the projector and projection screen. For commercial screenings, the screen must meet cinema industry certification requirements.
How to Choose a Home Cinema LED Screen
In a home cinema, image quality and silence come first. That's why the selection criteria differ somewhat from those for an office or advertising screen.
Pixel Pitch and Resolution
In a home cinema, viewers sit relatively close to the screen, so a very fine pixel pitch is needed. To achieve 4K resolution on a 110–220-inch screen, a pixel pitch of around 0.6–1.2 mm is typically chosen.
COB and MicroLED
COB technology and MicroLED deliver a very uniform black surface, high contrast and a durable front surface. They are especially well suited to home cinemas, where dark scenes are watched and deep blacks are expected.
Brightness and HDR
An LED screen is many times brighter than a projector, allowing HDR content to be shown to its full extent and viewing even in a well-lit room. For evening viewing, the brightness is lowered to a level suited to a cinema setting.
Silent Operation
In a home cinema, it's important that the screen makes no noise. We select solutions with quiet or passive cooling, so fan noise doesn't interfere with the film's soundtrack.
Audio and Room Acoustics
Unlike an acoustically transparent projection screen, an LED screen doesn't let sound pass through, so the centre and front speakers are placed below, beside or above the screen. We plan the screen together with the audio system and room acoustics.
Compared with a Projector
A projector needs a dark room, periodic lamp or light source replacement and often dedicated space for the projector itself. An LED screen is brighter, has higher contrast and is maintenance-free, but for large surfaces it is also more expensive. We advise on both options.
From Idea to a Finished Cinema
A home cinema is a complete system in which the screen, audio, lighting and controls all have to work together. We handle the entire process, so the client has a single point of contact.
Consultation
We assess the room, viewing distance and lighting conditions, and select the right screen size and technology.

Layout of the screen, speakers, mounts and cabling, in collaboration with your interior architect or builder.
Installation
Screen installation, calibration and connection to your media sources and audio system.

Remote support, software updates and help whenever something needs to be changed or upgraded.
Frequently Asked Questions
An LED screen is brighter, has higher contrast, works even in a well-lit room and requires no maintenance. A projector is more affordable for the same image size but needs a dark room. The choice depends on the room, your budget and how much the room is used during the day.
The size depends on the viewing distance. For a true cinema experience, the screen is often chosen to fill a large part of the field of view. The larger the screen and the closer the viewer, the finer the pixel pitch needs to be.
Some LED screens use fans for cooling, which can be audible in a quiet room. For home cinemas, we select solutions with quiet or passive cooling so the screen doesn't disturb your viewing.
Yes. A media player, TV tuner or games console can be connected to the screen, and everything can be controlled with a single remote or a smart device.
The price depends on the screen size, pixel pitch and technology, and on whether the solution also includes an audio and control system. Send us your room dimensions and requirements, and we'll prepare a quote.
