What does power consumption depend on?
Brightness level: the most influential factor; outdoor displays require significantly higher power.
Displayed content: dark content consumes up to 50–70% less energy than full-white imagery.
Pixel pitch and LED type: a smaller pitch and higher LED density increase power consumption.
Power supply efficiency: modern units (92–96%) reduce ongoing energy costs.
Automatic brightness control: saves 20–40% of energy.
More efficient LED modules may be more expensive initially, but they significantly reduce long-term operating costs, especially for larger displays.
An important unit of measurement is W/square meter (W/m²).
Different LED technologies enable the use of displays for various purposes, but one of the key parameters is pixel pitch — the distance in millimetres between two adjacent LED diodes. Pixel pitch determines the density of the LEDs and, together with the physical size of the display, defines the screen resolution and image sharpness. The smaller the pixel pitch, the more detailed the image and the better it performs at close viewing distances.

P0.4 – P2.5
High-resolution LED displays suitable for indoor use, control rooms, conference halls and environments where the screen is viewed from a short distance.
P3 – P6
Medium-viewing-distance displays, ideal for shopping centres, event setups, large lobbies and indoor installations.
P8 – P16
Outdoor displays designed for long-distance visibility, suitable for billboards, outdoor signage, stadium screens and building façade installations.
The viewing angle is mainly influenced by the screen diode protection solutions and the diode type. However, LED screens still offer a very wide viewing angle, unlike some types of LCD screens.
Standard: 120° - 160°, important for a wide audience.
On average, 100,000 hours at 50% average brightness. It's important to keep in mind that the screen's cooling system should comply with the manufacturer's requirements.
Depending on the usage location and conditions, it is necessary to choose the appropriate IP class and product material. For regular use in dry and warm indoor conditions, an LED screen can be IP20. However, even for indoor conditions, it may be necessary to protect the internal components of the screen or choose models with a high IP rating, such as IP54-6X.
LED technologies:
DIP (Dual In-line Package) LEDs are traditional diodes featuring two lead pins and an epoxy resin casing. They are mounted onto the PCB through drilled holes (through-hole mounting). DIP technology is primarily used in outdoor applications where high brightness, low power consumption and maximum durability are required.

SMD (Surface-Mounted Device) LEDs are compact diodes soldered directly onto the surface of the printed circuit board (PCB). Thanks to their small form factor and support for multi-color configurations (RGB 3-in-1), they are widely used in LED displays as well as various indoor lighting applications.

COB (Chip on Board) LED technology integrates dozens to hundreds of LED chips into a single larger light-emitting surface, mounted directly onto the printed circuit board without individual encapsulation. This approach provides a very uniform light output and highly efficient heat dissipation, which is essential for both display and lighting applications.
